A celebration of the rise of Big Band and Dance Band music in the UK. Including a selection of favourites from the days of the BBC Dance Orchestra under the batons of Jack Payne and Henry Hall through to the music of band leaders including Jack Hylton, Harry Roy, Bert Ambrose, Geraldo, Ted Heath, John Dankworth, Joe Loss – and the music of today as played by the BBC Big Band.
